Job Summary
The Nurse Extern works under the direct supervision of the RN Preceptor and the nursing management team, providing personal care to patients including hygiene, nutrition, and comfort activities. Responsibilities also include performing basic medical tasks such as simple wound care, EKGs, phlebotomy, and monitoring vital signs. The position requires adherence to hospital policies and effective communication skills to respect and address the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in RN diploma/degree program and in final year
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire

- 1 year Patient care experience
