Job Summary
Nurse Extern role supporting the General Surgery team with hands-on patient care responsibilities. You will help with ADLs, check vital signs, support mobility and hygiene, perform basic nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection, and document care while communicating updates to the nursing team. You will assist patients and families in understanding care plans, help maintain a clean and safe environment, and engage in learning opportunities to develop clinical skills under supervision to progress through your nursing program.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in a nursing program where the controlling institution of the nursing program is accredited under 21 NCAC 36.0302(b)(1).
- NC (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant
