Job Summary
Nurse Extern in General Surgery providing hands-on nursing team support: assist with ADLs, monitor and document vital signs, perform wound and catheter care, collect specimens, ensure patient comfort and hygiene, maintain infection prevention practices, document care accurately, and communicate updates to the nursing team; support patient and family understanding of care plans and participate in learning opportunities to advance nursing skills under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in a nursing program where the controlling institution of the nursing program is accredited under 21 NCAC 36.0302(b)(1).
- NC (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant
