Nurse Extern Cardiovascular Progressive Care

Nurse Extern in Cardiovascular Progressive Care supports direct and indirect patient care for adults with complex cardiovascular and telemetry needs under RN supervision. Responsible for patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, telemetry observation, basic diagnostic preparation, hygiene and mobility support, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Assists with medication administration as permitted by policy, reinforces cardiovascular education for patients and families, and promptly reports changes in patient status to the RN. Participates in infection prevention standards, patient safety, fall-reduction protocols, and quality/improvement initiatives while building clinical skills and preparing for transition into a Registered Nurse role.
