Job Summary
Nurse Extern; gain hands-on experience on the Adult Med Surg unit while delivering safe, compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility and comfort, wound and catheter care, specimen collection, accurate documentation, and communicating updates to the nursing team. In addition to infection prevention and maintaining a clean, organized environment, you will educate patients and families about care plans and participate in growth opportunities with your supervisor/preceptor to develop your nursing skills and career.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in a nursing program where the controlling institution of the nursing program is accredited under 21 NCAC 36.0302(b)(1).
