Job Summary
Design and implement orientation, in-service, and continuing education programs for staff across all skill levels. Coach and mentor nurses on assessment, nursing diagnosis, treatment, and evidence-based practice while guiding process improvement initiatives. Develop residency and preceptorship structures to support new hires and graduate nurses, utilizing adult learning principles and research to enhance program outcomes. Lead departmental committees, facilitate ethical discussions, and promote participation in professional organizations to foster staff engagement and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registration and Licensure as a professional Registered Nurse in New York State
- BSN from an accredited school
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant clinical experience
- Ability to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb.
- Ability to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers
- Ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period of time
- Ability to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance
- Ability to comprehend the spoken English language
- Ability to communicate and read the English language

- Previous educational or leadership experience
- Certification in a specialty for population and / or for nursing professional development
