Job Summary
Plan, develop, and evaluate orientation and educational programs for professional and ancillary personnel within the Surgery Department. Coordinate preceptor programs, document staff competencies, and conduct learning needs assessments to drive quality improvement and patient outcomes. Maintain current clinical knowledge in perioperative nursing while providing leadership for ongoing staff development and inservice planning. Collaborate with managers and resource persons to prepare schedules, assess orientee progress, and resolve conflicts. Ensure all activities align with Memorial Health System standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency. Requires an active Illinois RN license, three years of OR experience, and a BSN or ADN.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- OR or Peri-Op nursing experience
- ADN
- Three years of experience as operating room nurse
- CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Holds national specialty nursing certification in clinical area or nursing administration, or completes within 24 months of assuming role
- ACLS certification
- Additional perioperative experience
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development/training
- Outstanding human-relations, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
