Job Summary
Nurse Clinician position providing nursing assessments via phone or in person, implementing nursing interventions, and prioritizing patient care for Thoracic Medical Oncology. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, chemotherapy administration, conscious sedation procedures, wound care, and Medication administration; documentation in the patient medical record with clear, complete entries; maintaining patient confidentiality; coordinating with physicians and other health care providers; triage of calls; supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants; initiating and coordinating patient education; and contributing to a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting. Requires an Associate’s degree in Nursing, state RN license, Basic CPR certification, 2 years of relevant clinical experience; preferred Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Shift is 4/10 hour days; location Chicago, IL within Northwestern Medicine; hybrid remote option.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment
- Certification in Basic CPR
- 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
