Nurse Clinician Coordinator provides direct patient care and coordinates evidence-based, perioperative and ambulatory cardiology services across the Northwestern Medicine system. The role emphasizes pre‐operative evaluation, post‐operative surveillance, wound assessment, recovery guidance, patient and family education, and cross‐disciplinary care coordination with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff. Daily duties include telephone outreach, MyChart messaging, and in-person clinic interactions to ensure timely access to care and delivery of cardiology‐specific education. The position requires strong cardiovascular assessment skills, effective communication, leadership, and a commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement within outpatient cardiac surgery services.
