Job Summary
Nurse coordinates and consults on health and medical needs for Regional Center staff, service providers, clients, and families. Core responsibilities include assessments, evaluations, consultations, and delivery of high-quality care, ensuring individuals served receive appropriate medical care and that staff and families are well-informed and supported in managing health needs. Responsibilities also include providing information on medical terminologies and procedures, conducting nursing assessments to determine levels of care and placement, preparing monthly reports for ARFPSHN homes, coordinating with Medical Consultant and Client Consultation Committee, creating educational presentations for staff and community groups, ensuring appropriate medical care through QA and Placement Committees, and acting as an Executive Director Designee for medical and dental procedure consents. Requires strong communication, presentation skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a community-based setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required
- Valid Registered Nurse (R.N.) license required
- Certificate in Public Health Nursing required
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in public health nursing or a combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge
- Master’s degree in a related field can be substituted for one year of the required experience
