Job Summary
Nurse Clinical Leader Orthopedics Acute provides leadership and clinical expertise during shifts and within the department, supervising staff, managing unit resources, and aligning staffing with patient needs and financial considerations. Responsibilities include leading change, scheduling, staff competency development, new employee orientation, performance reviews, and governance support, while maintaining hands-on bedside clinical care and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary health team. Requires strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a BSN and current RN licensure in the practice state and BLS certification. Potential responsibilities also encompass staff development from novice to expert, adherence to regulatory standards, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; RN hired/promoted into this role must obtain BSN within four years of hire/promotion
