Job Summary
Nurse Clinical Coordinator in the ER combining direct bedside RN care with clinical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high‐quality services in a fast-paced emergency department. Responsibilities include triaging patients, administering medications and treatments, conducting comprehensive assessments, coordinating staffing and shift assignments, orienting and coaching nurses, educating patients and families, documenting accurately, and escalating patient or resource concerns to leadership. Collaborates with physicians, APs, specialists, and ancillary teams to ensure clear communication, regulatory compliance, and adherence to hospital policies. Focus areas include monitoring quality metrics, supporting performance improvement, and developing/implementing clinical protocols and best practices for emergency care. The ideal candidate is an RN with at least two years of recent ED experience who demonstrates critical thinking, rapid prioritization, and strong communication under pressure, with proficiency in documentation and EHRs. This is a full-time hospital-based role with flexibility to work various shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- Ability to provide direct bedside nursing care and triage
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
