Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiothoracic and cardiology patients while promoting patient and family-centered care. Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration. Develop and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, including patient preferences and cultural values. Provide direct patient care activities within the guidelines of nursing standards.
