Job Summary
Field Nurse Case Manager role covering Fredericksburg and surrounding communities (Alexandria, Dumfries, Chantilly, Ashburn) with travel to doctors’ offices, hospitals, and other locations. Responsible for medical case management of work-related injuries, including assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with insurance carriers, medical providers, attorneys, employers, and employees; monitors progress and reports results. Requires RN licenses for VA (and DC within 30 days). Travel up to 2 hours one-way (4 hours round trip); autonomous, organized, and capable of handling catastrophic cases. Preferred certifications (CCM, CRRN, CDMS, CRC) to be obtained within two years. Strong communication, technology, and patient-education skills; valid driver’s license with good driving history. Hybrid work arrangement across listed VA locations.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in VA
- Current, unencumbered RN license in DC (required within 30 days of start)
- Experience in case management of workers comp cases preferred
- Willingness to learn and handle catastrophic cases
- Preferred: CCM, CRRN, CDMS, CRC (required within two years)
- Skills: organization, timeline adherence, PC/tech skills, written/verbal/interpersonal communication
- Autonomy in performing duties
- Patient education skills
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving history
