Job Summary
Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and document all services in the electronic medical record. Act as an observer for patients requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety. Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. This role is part of the Med Surg Care Unit 5N at Troy Hospital, a facility recognized by US News & World Report for orthopedics and urological services.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support
- Current CNA certification
- Full week of corporate orientation
- Monday-Friday schedule
- 7am-3:30pm shift
- Drug-free workplace compliance
- MMR vaccine requirement
- Varicella vaccine requirement
- Tdap vaccine requirement
- Influenza vaccine requirement
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience
