Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect care for residents as a caregiver and medication dispenser. Transport residents, remove linens and trash, and assist with admission preparation. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces, wheelchairs, and assistive devices while distributing nourishments. Monitor resident information for confidentiality and support a culture of safety and quality. Treat residents and families with respect and dignity while attending in-service education programs. Maintain personal health and practice efficient supply use.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in the State of Washington
- Nurse Delegation Core Certification
- Diabetic Certification
- Must be able to follow directions (both oral and written)
- Must work cooperatively with other staff members
- Must establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents, family members and other facility staff
- Must assure confidentiality of resident information
- Must maintain personal health to prevent absence from work due to health problems
- Must possess a genuine interest and concern for geriatric and disabled persons
- Must adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
- Must wear identification while on duty
- Must complete annual District-required and/or job-required educational requirements
- Must maintain regulatory requirements
- Must attend staff meetings per facility policy
- Must report to work on time and as scheduled
- Must complete work within designated time
- Must maintain employee/patient confidentiality
- Must represent the District in a positive and professional manner
- Must participate in department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (PDSA/4DX) activities
- Must demonstrate the mission, vision, ethics, and goals of the facility as well as the departmental Scope of Service
- Must communicate with patients, residents, guests, family, and staff in a courteous, respectful, and helpful manner
- Must maintain a clean, safe, and accident-free environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized non-U.S. citizen
- Must show employment eligibility verification as required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in direct care of older persons requiring care in a residential environment
- Assisted Living required certifications: Mental Health, Dementia, Developmental Disabilities
