Job Summary

Administer sedation, intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics for surgical, invasive, and delivery procedures while monitoring vital signs and observing for significant physical changes. Maintain anesthesia equipment, prepare prescribed solutions, and assess fluid needs as well as administer blood and blood product transfusions. Document pre- and post-operative clinical reports, including medications, respiratory status, and circulation, while assisting with patient positioning and movement between the operating room, PACU, and other care settings. Maintain adequate stock of anesthetics and supplies, ensuring safety protocols are followed and equipment malfunctions are reported promptly.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-year nursing degree
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesiology
  • RN License - MN
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) licensure
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification
  • Training on all equipment used in the clinical area
  • Basic computer skills
  • Patient information database (Cerner, EMR) experience
  • Ability to give adequate care to infants (Birth to 1 Year)
  • Ability to give adequate care to children (2-12)
  • Ability to give adequate care to adolescents (13-17)
  • Ability to give adequate care to adults (18-65)
  • Ability to give adequate care to geriatric patients (65 and over)
  • Must be available for on-call duty in 30 minutes or less
  • Must be available for on-call duty on a rotating basis
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50# rarely, 30-45# occasionally and frequently 10-30#
  • Must be able to push/pull carts or equipment up to 50# of force frequently and rarely up to 100#
  • Must be able to push/pull wheelchairs with 30-50# of force with handle height = 36"
  • Must be able to reach frequently 7-36", occasionally 6-80"
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50# and rarely 100#
  • Must be able to complete patient/resident handling moving or positioning with situations that safe patient handling equipment is not available
