Job Summary
Perform routine and non-sterile treatment procedures, assist nurses in complicated treatments, and administer personal care including baths, oral care, and toileting. Prepare patient rooms for admission, accompany patients during transfers, and record vital signs, intake/output, and medication administration. Collect specimens, transport them to the proper area, and chart all care activities in the EMR. Maintain a clean environment by cleaning equipment, managing linen, and reporting out-of-order items. Recognize changes in patient condition, adhere to infection control protocols, and provide post-mortem care as needed. Give shift change reports and attend assigned in-service programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, use computer to document and comprehend medical terminology
- Good physical and mental health
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to relate to patients, hospital staff, and visitors
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Nurse Aide Certification through the state of Kentucky
- Current certification as Basic CPR Provider
- Ability to lift varied weights
- Ability to pull
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant
- Certified nurse aide certificate
