Job Summary
Provide licensed CNA or related-experience resident care in memory-care settings (7a-3p) under supervision, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, incontinence care, meal assistance, activity support, vital signs as trained, and adherence to infection-control policies. Document care, respond to call lights, and maintain safety while supporting dementia-focused resident activities and rights in a Ridgeland, MS memory-care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Home Maker, or related experience
- Ability to read and write English
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, state officials, and general public
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderly
- Must meet all state health requirements
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities under essential job functions
- Document resident activity on approved forms in a manner that is legible and understandable
- Provide resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transferring, and incontinence care while using appropriate techniques
- Observe any changes in resident condition, take action to ensure safety of resident and report to supervisor
- Make rounds as directed to check on resident status
- Respond to call lights in a timely manner
- Vital sign monitoring will be performed as needed by personnel with current training to do so
- Assist with dining service and activity program as directed
- Understand and follow safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Understand and follow resident care plan and document accordingly
- Hear, understand, and respond to resident communication
- Report incidents and completes appropriate paperwork
- Collect, wash, and care for laundry & linens in accordance with The Orchard policy
- Help to properly maintain all equipment, and general facility maintenance & cleanliness
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe, ensure policies covering infection control, health and safety, etc. are strictly followed
- Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations and resident rights
- Attend all required in-service trainings
- Promotes and encourages residents to participate in activities
- Answers phone appropriately
- Meets customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priority
- Ability to distinguish and prioritize duties resident needs (both emotion & physical) v/s task at hand

- Document Intake
- Insure residents are clean, dry, and comfortable before leaving
- Sign/Date/Time all documentation

- Physical/Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)
- Medium Work Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
