Job Summary
Respond to patient call lights promptly and relay information to nursing personnel. Perform basic nursing care including vital signs, bathing, skin care, and assisting with activities of daily living. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly patient and service rooms while monitoring for changes in condition. Complete patient rounds regularly, record intake and output data, and adhere to safety protocols such as falls prevention. Accept care assignments willingly and collaborate with staff to improve the care environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS certification (AHA only)
- first aid training
- Ability to read and write at an elementary school level
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations at an elementary school level
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity
- Basic analytical skills in order to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret, & report outcomes to the nurse or document on the medical record
- Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
