Job Summary

Provide routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring patient safety and well-being. Lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients; assist with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting. Accurately document and chart patient care, respond to call lights promptly, and assist in patient evacuations. Implement and interpret nursing department programs, goals, and policies while maintaining confidentiality and professional relationships. Work in a post-acute care facility setting, demonstrating patience, tact, and excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a State-approved CNA program
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
  • CPR certification must remain current during employment
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to handle difficult patients
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understanding and ability to follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct
  • Willingness to complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
  • Ability to lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients
  • Ability to assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting
  • Ability to accurately document and chart patient care
  • Ability to respond to call lights promptly
  • Exhibition of excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of patients
  • Dependable, regular attendance
  • Concentration and use of reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull 35 lbs.
