Job Summary
Provide personal care including bathing, feeding, positioning, and preparing patients for meals. Collect specimens, vital signs, and input/output data while recording pertinent patient information per hospital policy. Assist with ambulation, surgery preparation, and diagnostic procedures such as x-rays. Administer enemas, douches, and restraints as instructed by nurses. Maintain a safe and sanitary environment by observing isolation techniques, reporting hazards, and restocking supplies. Participate in team conferences and staff meetings. Requires Nurse Aide training program completion and three months on-the-job training. Additional training may be needed for specific areas like skilled nursing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Nurse Aide training program
- High School GED equivalent Preferred
- Three (3) months on-the-job training is required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities
- Additional training may be required and given, to work in some areas; i.e. competency listing with the State of Kentucky to work in SNF
