Job Summary

Assess hospital status and plan shift actions, coordinating nursing activities with other departments and clarifying policies for staff, physicians, and patients. Manage staffing by determining required personnel based on census and acuity, assigning float staff, and reviewing daily reports. Lead patient care coordination through regular rounds, resolving concerns with families, and responding to codes while procuring emergency supplies. Initiate disciplinary processes when appropriate and report significant events or unit activities to management. Provide staff development by counseling on difficult situations, orienting new employees, and conducting in-services.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of Registered Nursing experience
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
  • BLS certification
  • Healthcare Provider certification
  • ACLS certification (for some locations)
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs max
  • Ability to carry small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools
  • Ability to stand and walk occasionally
  • Ability to sit frequently
  • Ability to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Ability to work in an environment with blood-borne pathogen exposure
  • Ability to work in an environment with bio-hazardous waste
  • Ability to work in an environment with chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
  • Ability to work in an environment with communicable diseases
  • Ability to work in an environment with electrical shock risk
  • Ability to work in an environment with floor surfaces
  • Ability to work in an environment with hot/cold temperatures
  • Ability to work in an environment with indoor/outdoor conditions
  • Ability to work with latex
  • Ability to work with lighting
  • Ability to work with patient care/handling injuries
  • Ability to work with radiation
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
