Nurse Administrative Supervisor

Job Summary
Assess hospital status and plan shift actions, coordinate nursing activities with other departments, and interpret policies for staff, physicians, and patients. Initiate disciplinary processes when appropriate, resolve conflicts, and assist non-nursing operations with personnel needs. Determine required staff based on census and acuity, assign float personnel, and review daily staffing reports. Conduct nursing rounds, document bed placements, and facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Respond to patient codes, coordinate emergency medication procurement, and provide crisis intervention. Assist staff in priority setting, counsel the Charge Nurse on difficult situations, and conduct in-services based on educational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's degree
- Five years of Registered Nursing experience
- Two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
- BLS certification
- Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS certification (for some locations)
- Ability to lift 10 lbs max
- Ability to carry small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools
- Ability to stand and walk occasionally
- Ability to sit frequently
- Ability to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Ability to work in environments with blood-borne pathogen exposure
- Ability to work with bio-hazardous waste
- Ability to handle chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Ability to work with communicable diseases
- Ability to work with electrical shock
- Ability to work with floor surfaces
- Ability to work with hot/cold temperatures
- Ability to work in indoor/outdoor conditions
- Ability to work with latex
- Ability to work with lighting
- Ability to handle patient care/handling injuries
- Ability to work with radiation
- Ability to work shift work
- Ability to travel
- Ability to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
