Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate the total care needs of patients, residents, and clients while coordinating with facility departments, families, and external professionals. Promote effective communication through care delivery and reporting mechanisms, and participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain professional competence. Work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, making decisions on patient care and equipment coordination. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent, Basic Life Support certification, and registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan. Full-time temporary role involving extended shift hours, travel, and on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma
  • Nursing diploma
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing
  • Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
  • Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment
  • Ability to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Must promote effective communication in the facility through care given and reporting mechanisms
  • Must be able to coordinate with all the departments within the facility, families and professionals associated with P/R/Cs care
  • Must be able to participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain their own professional competence
  • Must be able to promote high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients/residents/clients (P/R/Cs)
