Job Summary
Administer medication to clients per policy, control and document onsite medications, and educate patients on use, purpose, side effects, and related information. Verify physician orders, transcribe orders, and assist in admission processes while documenting substance use diagnoses as required. Maintain independent judgment for resolving problems and emergencies, communicating effectively with clients, families, staff, and regulatory agencies. Requires current Massachusetts LPN or RN license, CPR certification, and experience in substance abuse or acute inpatient care preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
- current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies
- ability to express self adequately in written and oral communication
- ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in substance abuse/mental health field
- Experience in an acute care inpatient healthcare environment
