Job Summary
Administer medication to clients per policy while controlling, counting, and documenting onsite supplies. Educate clients on medication use, purpose, and side effects, and verify orders with physicians before transcribing. Assist in the admission process and document substance use diagnoses as required. Maintain independent judgment for emergency resolution and communicate effectively with clients, families, staff, and regulatory agencies. Requires Massachusetts LPN or RN licensure, current CPR certification, and experience in substance abuse or acute care preferred. Schedule includes 16 hours weekly from 5:30am to 2:00pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
- current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies
- ability to express self adequately in written and oral communication
- ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in substance abuse/mental health field
- Experience in an acute care inpatient healthcare environment
