Job Summary
Assess pig body and health conditions, administer proper treatments, and maintain optimum herd environments. Collect accurate data during production phases, record ventilation guidelines, and submit timely reports. Perform fine motor tasks for writing data, administering shots, and weighing piglets while complying with bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies. Requires continuous walking, standing for eight hours daily, frequent kneeling, and steady balance. Located at Pillen Family Farms' genetic nucleus farm in Nebraska, this role supports the family-owned operation's annual marketing of two million pigs.
Required Qualifications
- Fine motor skills for writing data, administering treatment shots, and weighing individual piglets
- Frequent kneeling, reaching, and steady balance required for treating piglets
- Continuous walking and standing; a minimum of 8 hours per day
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, interpersonal communication
