Job Summary
Nuclear Weapons Effects Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Scientist needed to develop or integrate models for air blast, ground shock, and structural response within GIS-linked 3D modeling environments. Role involves creating engineering and physics-based methodologies, analytical algorithms, and software tools, performing verification and validation, and contributing to a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Requires a BS in science/engineering with 2-4 years of experience, ability to work with C++, Python, Java, and a security-clearance-eligible background; position includes working 3 days a week in the Raleigh, NC office. Familiarity with DoD modeling and simulation, structural dynamics, probabilistic analysis, and related domains is preferred; Master’s degree and DoD experience are advantageous. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Science or Engineering with 2-4 years of experience
- Strong ability to develop modeling and simulation software in high level languages (e.g. C++, Python, Java)
- Desire to work in a dynamic team environment
- Eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science preferred for advanced roles
- Security clearance eligibility (US) for work with DoD/IC programs
