Job Summary

Nuclear Weapons Effects Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Scientist needed to develop or integrate models for air blast, ground shock, and structural response within GIS-linked 3D modeling environments. Role involves creating engineering and physics-based methodologies, analytical algorithms, and software tools, performing verification and validation, and contributing to a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Requires a BS in science/engineering with 2-4 years of experience, ability to work with C++, Python, Java, and a security-clearance-eligible background; position includes working 3 days a week in the Raleigh, NC office. Familiarity with DoD modeling and simulation, structural dynamics, probabilistic analysis, and related domains is preferred; Master’s degree and DoD experience are advantageous. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Science or Engineering with 2-4 years of experience
  • Strong ability to develop modeling and simulation software in high level languages (e.g. C++, Python, Java)
  • Desire to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Master of Science preferred for advanced roles
  • Security clearance eligibility (US) for work with DoD/IC programs
  • Experience with modeling and simulation software in high level languages (C++, Python, Java)
  • Background in physics or engineering with focus on modeling of air blast, ground shock, structural response
  • Experience with verification and validation of computational models
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively
  • Familiarity with DoD modeling/simulation technologies, structural dynamics, probabilistic analysis, and geotechnical characterization (preferred)
