Job Summary
Nuclear Apprentice Plant Attendant at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Welch, MN. Perform plant operations such as refueling, equipment isolations and restorations, surveillance testing and equipment/valve checks; participate in on-site fire brigade; climb ladders and wear respiratory equipment; meet NRC access authorization requirements; begin path toward obtaining an NRC license; high school diploma or GED required; possess or pursue licenses and complete required exams/training within specified timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- Required High school diploma or GED
- SPECIAL Minnesota State Engineer's License within three months
- Second-Class Grade "A" License within 3 months of operating experience
- Must pass Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements
- EEI POSS/MASS exam (or grandfathered)
- Active participation in training and retraining programs
- Must meet NRC requirements
- Ability to wear respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus
- Must be capable of climbing ladders and working at heights
- Must possess NRC license training path awareness
- Must be in good general health and pass medical examination
