Job Summary
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, trains to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many duties include: preparing prescriptions, drawing doses into syringes or vials, performing QA tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals, receiving/storing pharmaceuticals according to DOT and company guidelines, maintaining computer inventory and records, assisting with labeling blood cell products, general laboratory/ facility cleanup, clerical tasks such as daily records and billing, and making deliveries as needed. Requires a valid driver’s license, 18+ years of age, and ISBP registration/licensure preferred; prior Pharmacy Technician experience and nuclear environment familiarity are a plus. Schedule includes weekends/holidays with rotation; 40 hours weekly; comprehensive benefits. Candidates including those back-to-work, without a college degree, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Registration with the Illinois State Board of Pharmacy, state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or PTCB preferred
- Ability to manage up to 75 pounds
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Manual dexterity for dispensing doses
- Comfortable working in a nuclear environment
- Ability to work weekends, on call, holidays, overtime, alternating shifts
- Intermediate computer skills
