Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs imaging exams per department protocols, ensures proper patient identification and safety, prepares radiopharmaceuticals, maintains equipment, and supports patient care and documentation. Responsibilities include equipment setup, patient positioning, image review, post-procedure procedures, adherence to infection control, and collaboration with radiologists and department staff. Requires Accredited Radiologic Technology program completion, ARRT-R or CNMT certification, BLS, and a minimum of 1 year clinical Nuclear Medicine experience. Must demonstrate strong communication, patient-care, and multitasking abilities, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and Joint Commission standards.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT-R Radiography or CNMT (Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
- BLS Instruction or BLS Certification or ARC-BLS
- Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting caring for patients
- Minimum 1 year Nuclear Medicine experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work under pressure; ability to multitask; teamwork and independent functioning
