Job Summary
Per diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist accountable for performing department imaging procedures with proper patient identification, radiopharmaceutical administration, and image quality. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, positioning patients, verifying clinician orders, conducting preprocedural verification and Time Out, maintaining patient safety and privacy, following sterilization and infection-control procedures, and assisting with a wide range of NM procedures. The role requires effective communication with physicians, patients, families, and staff; ability to work independently and within a team; prioritization and multitasking; and adherence to Joint Commission standards and department protocols. The technologist may teach and mentor NM staff and must ensure studies are transmitted to PACS and documented in RIS/PACS workflows. Additional duties include equipment maintenance, restocking, and providing compassionate patient care across an age range, while responding to emergencies and supporting department operations. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- ARRT-N Nuclear Technology or CNMT - Cert Nuclear Med Tech
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Accredited Program Radiologic Science or Accredited Program Other
- Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting caring for patients or Minimum 1 year NM experience
