Job Summary
Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN) at Wellstar in Islip, NY. Provides imaging examinations and related care per department procedures; ensures patient identification, safety with radiopharmaceuticals, and high-quality diagnostic studies; performs setup and positioning of patients and equipment; collaborates with physicians and radiology staff; maintains patient privacy, infection control, and equipment readiness; contributes to QA/QC, documentation, and PACS/RIS workflows; requires ARRT Nuclear Technology or CNMT certification and BLS, with at least 1 year NM/clinical experience; strong communication, multitasking, and customer-service skills; involves rapid, independent decision-making and team participation.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT-N - ARRT Nuclear Technology or CNMT - Cert Nuclear Med Tech
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting caring for patients (may include clinical rotations) or Minimum 1 year NM experience.
- Must possess the ability to function independently and under pressure while still actively participating in a team environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the capacity to interact professionally with a variety of customers, including but not limited to patients, families, co-workers, volunteers, and physicians throughout the work shift.
