Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Part-Time, Variable Shift

Job Summary

Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using radioisotope equipment. Calculates doses for radiologists, executes blood volume and fat absorption studies, and administers intravenous injections per established procedures. Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation, documents radioactive material usage, and surveys facilities. Obtains patient information and disseminates preparation instructions to care areas. Elevates clinical questions to senior staff for direction. Requires a state Nuclear Medicine License, ARRT or NMTCB certification, and BLS. Part-time, variable shift role at Adventist Health Simi Valley.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma/certificate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
  • State Nuclear Medicine License in CA and HI
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in CA and OR
  • Venipuncture certification in CA and HI
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or National Nuclear Med Tech (NMTCB)
  • Venipuncture (IV) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
  • Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent
