Job Summary
Prepare in-house radiopharmaceuticals by compounding chemical kits with appropriate quantities of radioactive material. Initiate and perform acquisition, processing of dynamic and static planar and tomographic imaging procedures for organs including bone, brain, gallbladder, heart, liver, lung, parathyroid, renal, spleen, thyroid. Prepare patients for procedures, assessing needs throughout the entire process. Administer therapeutic radionuclides at the direction of the nuclear medicine physician after dose verification. Perform daily, quarterly, and annual calibration checks on all pharmacy equipment. This civilian Nuclear Medicine Technologist role supports the Defense Health Agency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in 42 CFR Part 75 and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education
- Certified as radiographers in their field
- One year of specialized experience performing nuclear medicine studies or examinations and providing technical support to physicians or other professional nuclear medicine personnel in the diagnosis, care, or treatment of patients
- Two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position
- A combination of education and experience where the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
