Job Summary

Operate scanning and auxiliary equipment to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under Radiologist supervision. Prepare and administer oral and intravenous radiopharmaceuticals while troubleshooting equipment and positioning counter-balanced cameras weighing up to 2000 pounds. Access hospital-wide computer systems for information retrieval, process quality control for nuclear medicine films, and maintain comprehensive record-keeping functions. Schedule appointments, provide patient instructions, answer inquiries, and educate families regarding procedures. Receive and record verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners and administer medications safely in accordance with policy. Requires Nuclear Medicine Technology certification, BLS/CPR certification, and relevant clinical experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N.M.T.C.B.) certification or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Nuclear Medicine (A.R.R.T.- N.M.) certification
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire

Desired Qualifications

  • 6 months – 1 year experienced
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology
