Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and explain procedures to patients to ensure maximum comfort. Calibrate the dose calibrator, perform QC procedures on gamma cameras, and identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure. Perform all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using, and discarding of Radio-pharmaceuticals following vendor, departmental, and DEP rules. Assure that all tests are performed properly and results are valid and accurate prior to patient release. Abide by standards established by hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies while accepting special assignments from the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
