Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and obtain best possible images using prescribed technical parameters. Calibrate the dose calibrator and perform QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols, notifying the lead tech of any malfunctions. Perform all hot lab functions including receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals while strictly adhering to vendor, departmental, and DEP regulations. Ensure all tests are performed properly and results are valid prior to patient release, while identifying patients per hospital SOP and explaining procedures including wait times to ensure maximum comfort. Accept special assignments from the supervisor and complete them on time while abiding by standards established by hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies. This full-time day position requires a current NJ State license and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
