Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and ensure all tests are performed properly and results are valid prior to patient release. Calibrate the dose calibrator, perform QC procedures on gamma cameras, and notify the lead tech of any malfunctions. Explain procedures to patients, obtain best possible images using prescribed technical parameters, and identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure. Perform all hot lab functions including receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals following vendor, departmental, and DEP rules. Accept special assignments from the supervisor and complete them on time while abiding by standards established by hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
