Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and obtain best possible images by using prescribed technical parameters. Calibrate the dose calibrator and perform QC procedures on gamma cameras, notifying the lead tech of any malfunctions. Perform all hot lab functions including receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals in strict compliance with vendor, departmental, and DEP regulations. Explain procedures to patients clearly, obtain informed consent, and ensure test results are valid and accurate prior to release. Identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure and accept special assignments from the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
