Job Summary

Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures, ensuring all tests are performed properly and results are valid prior to release. Calibrate the dose calibrator and perform QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols, while accepting special assignments from the supervisor. Explain procedures to patients clearly, including wait times, and obtain best possible images using prescribed technical parameters. Perform all hot lab functions such as receiving, using, and discarding of Radio-pharmaceuticals following vendor, departmental, and DEP rules. Identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure and abide by standards established by the hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • Must possess a current NJ State license
  • ARRT and/or NMTCB
  • BLS certification required

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
  • NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
