Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures, ensuring all tests are performed properly and results are valid prior to patient release. Calibrate the dose calibrator, perform gamma camera quality control, and notify the lead tech of any malfunctions. Explain procedures to patients, including wait times, and obtain best possible images using prescribed technical parameters. Perform all hot lab functions, such as receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals, strictly following vendor, departmental, and DEP regulations. Identify patients per hospital SOPs before starting any procedure and abide by standards from hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
