Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and obtain best possible images using prescribed technical parameters. Calibrate the dose calibrator, perform QC procedures on gamma cameras, and notify the lead tech of any malfunctions. Explain procedures to patients clearly, including wait times, while performing tasks to assure maximum comfort. Identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure and perform all hot lab functions such as receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals following vendor and regulatory rules. Accept special assignments from the supervisor and complete them on time while abiding by standards established by hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Ensure all tests are performed properly and results are valid and accurate prior to patient release.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must possess a current NJ State license
- ARRT and/or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT, certification preferred
