Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary
Corroborate patient clinical history, prepare patients for procedures, and administer radio pharmaceuticals as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Select and operate radiation detection and imaging equipment to perform rest and stress procedures, positioning patients and applying radiation protection principles. Evaluate images for technical quality, manage patient physical and psychological needs, and perform venipunctures while initiating basic life support when necessary. Collaborate with RNs and MDs to optimize patient outcomes in an outpatient Nuclear Cardiology setting. Requires state licensure, ARRT or NMTCB certification, and 3+ years of experience with PET and SPECT.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience
- PET preferred and SPECT required
- Graduate of a program in Nuclear Medicine Technology required
- State licensure in good standing required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified required
- Basic Life Support (ACLS preferred) required
- Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Full working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment and Radiation Physics
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience is preferred
