Job Summary
Administer radiopharmaceuticals intravenously to detect or treat cardiac diseases while calculating and recording radiation dosages. Prepare stock solutions and radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize exposure to workers and patients. Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment, meters, and cameras, maintaining logs and documenting issues. Process cardiac function studies using computer systems and record results. Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients, providing assistance during procedures. Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals following radiation safety procedures. Complete system and document backups at the end of each scan day, and document monthly supply inventory. Travel between Texas and Oklahoma for mobile unit coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine from an approved program
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state certification, as applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be able to move independently and comfortably on board mobile unit
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs
- Must be able to push/pull mobile equipment weighing up to 300 lbs
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Close visual acuity
- This position will travel between Texas and Oklahoma
- This position does require overnight travel throughout Tennessee and Alabama
Desired Qualifications
- Nuclear Cardiology experience preferred
