Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine Technician prepares, calibrates, logs, and administers radioactive isotopes to patients for various procedures. Key responsibilities include operating Gamma Camera imaging equipment, documenting and maintaining compliance with State and Federal regulations, monitoring supply usage, performing safety inspections of equipment, and providing educational support to patients and families. The technician must demonstrate proper positioning and effective use of equipment, and engage in continuous education to maintain professional licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year in acute hospital base experience
- Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- National Certification from NMTCB or ARRT
- ARRT or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine
- Current California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- BLS certification
Additional Requirements

- Must possess the skills to assess pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients
