Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Technologist performs in vivo and in vitro nuclear medicine procedures using PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and sophisticated instrumentation, processes and enhances images, analyzes data, and provides images and information to physicians for diagnostic/therapeutic interpretation. Works under the direction of Nuclear Medicine Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Supervisor, and Imaging Services Leadership; collaborates with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinical scientists to deliver high-quality imaging for patient care. Location is James Outpatient Care (Columbus), with a 40-hour First Shift schedule; requires ARRT-N and/or NMTCB certification and Ohio licensure; graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program. Final candidates may undergo background checks and post-offer drug screens/physical as part of the process. The role is embedded in Ohio State University/Wexner Medical Center’s Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging division, which operates PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging rooms across University Hospital, East Hospital, and The James Cancer Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and active registration in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Licensure in Radiologic Technology (Nuclear Medicine) by the State of Ohio Department of Health
- Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine program
