Job Summary
Assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures and calibrate the dose calibrator while performing QC procedures on gamma cameras. Identify patients per hospital SOP before starting any procedure and perform all hot lab functions, including receiving, using, and discarding radio-pharmaceuticals in strict compliance with vendor, departmental, and DEP rules. Notify the lead tech promptly of any malfunctions or issues. Work a full-time, day shift of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Must be able to assist the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures
- Must be able to calibrate the dose calibrator and perform QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols
- Must be able to identify patients (both IP and OP) per hospital SOP before starting any procedure
- Must be able to perform all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using and discarding of Radio-pharmaceuticals following/applying vendor, departmental and DEP rules and regulations strictly
- Must be able to abide by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies
Desired Qualifications
- Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist
