Job Summary

Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures for inpatients and outpatients by administering radiopharmaceuticals and operating imaging equipment. Precisely prepare and dispose of radioactive materials while maintaining accurate records from receipt through disposal. Operate gamma cameras, SPECT systems, and non-imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Prepare patients for exams, provide procedural instructions, and respond to their physical and emotional needs. Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, documenting unusual occurrences and reporting conditions. Coordinate quality control procedures on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals according to department protocols and regulatory standards. Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required while adhering to radiation safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Technologist, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine R.T. (N)(ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • Licensed Radiology Technologist for those working at a Kansas site

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One (1) year of nuclear medicine experience
  • Cardiac Nuclear Medicine registration
  • Positron Emission Tomography Registry, if applicable to entity
